As a frequent traveler and backpacker, I constantly jot down my travel experiences and love reading about others’ adventures. Even more, I love reading about awesome places to go and cultures to experience. So it is no surprise that I have been searching for the perfect WordPress travel theme. Unfortunately, my options were limited or simply did not fit the requirements. So here at Gabfire, we decided our next theme would address this niche (selfishly), and the result is a one-of-a-kind travel theme – Journey.

Grab your camera (or video camera) and get out there! The best part of your travels are surely the amazing pictures. With this in mind, we incorporated a large featured slider to showcase your best images.

Gabfire Gallery

You’ll need galleries for various destinations and trips – we got it covered. The theme has a Custom Post Type for photos and videos, a media gallery template, and also includes a Page Template for your media entries.

Advertisement Module – Category Based Ads

Someone has to pay for those flights and hotels so Journey has several ad spots readily available. Even better, the theme supports “category-based advertisements” so you can better target ads to your readers based on the content.

I wanted to have subtitles for posts and social links and Flickr widgets and… – OK, I’m really selfish! Well, it’s all included. All you have to do is add some awesome content and Journey does the rest.

Engage Readers

While you’re busy traveling, your readers will be engaged with social integration throughout the theme. And if you want to have readers contribute their own experiences to your site, you can enable such functionality with the use of third-party plugins.
