Nokia massive battery recall

Nokia found a problem on their BL-5C model batteries that has been produced between 2005 and 2006. Company announced, that 46 million batteries (out of 300 million) has over heating problem that occurs whether while device is connected to charger or a network connection is established.

If you have such a problem, you can request a new battery over internet. All you need to do is to visit this site and to submit 26 digits number, that you’ll find on behind of battery along with your personal details.

A while after, Nokia will post you a new battery together with a letter where they apologize because of the problem.

BL-5C model battery has been used on 52 different models of Nokia mobile phones. So, make sure that you don’t have a defected battery.

    WOW Nokia must have gone through QC so why didn’t they handle it before

    Quality checks always handled on manufacturer place Andrew. Then Nokia does only audit controls to keep the quality up. This kind of things can happen any time due to some technical problem. Good thing, Nokia accepts the problem and offer a replacement for faulty batteries.
