Blog struggles: Welcome to the blogworld

Its very common to see newbie bloggers who have just entered into blogging world and set unrealistic expectations from the very first day. As a new blogger, you need to put a lot of efforts into the blog to achieve your goals. Do not forget that, there is a long way that you need to move on and your priorities should always be content along the road.

Lets start with a basic principle as having your own domain. I believe that branding and having freedom (no-limitations) is very important. So, you have decided to blog, but you dont have any experience. And you think that it’s not so important to host your blog under a free service. Well, you are wrong. Do not use free blogging services. Blogs hosted under a submain (e.g. Blogger, Wordpress, etc…) are under the mercy of site administrators. There are number of things you are required to comply while keeping your blog under of their service. Failure to comply causes suspensions. To get your own domain gives you more freedom. And you are no longer responsible to any site admisitrator but to your readers and to the hosting company.

On the other hand having your own domain name will give your more monetization opportunities. Advertisers are excluding free-hosted domains from theirs list when they want to advertise.

Your content is also very important as well as having your own domain name. Try to build some interesting and unique content. Visitors like to read useful articles. Thus, you have to give special attention to your posts. There are millions of blogs out there and most of them are speaking in same language, thinking same things. If you want to attrack some attention and get more traffic, you will need to write decent content.

*Blog struggles is going to be an ongoing series that I will be publishing over the next few months.
