All my Elephantwares: Make your PC faster

Common hardware upgrades are adding a larger hard disks, installing additional or bigger memory (RAM), replacing CPUs, motherboards or graphics cards, and installing new versions of software, although many other type of upgrades are possible as well. All these things are parallel to a better performance. But what, if your hardware is slow due to some other installed softwares? Here I have listed few softwares those are most probably installed to many hardwares and their replacements that would work more efficiently.

Adobe Acrobat Reader
PDF format is created by Adobe in 93 with the purpose of document exchanging. By the late 90s PDF had become the de facto standard. Adobe Reader is available for free to download from the website of Adobe, and allows the viewing and printing of PDF files.

Adobe Reader is very powerfull but also space and resource hogging software. It is updated often which causes annoying warnings on startup to update it. You could swap the Adobe with Foxit Reader. It has short load time and very small file size and it use low resources when compared to Adobe Reader

Real Player
The first version of RealPlayer was introduced as ReadAudio Player in 1995, one of the first media players capable of streaming media over the Internet. It could be eve more popular than Youtube, if it would be taken the right steps on time. Merchant soul of RealPlayer that tries to sell Rapsody and SuperPass all the time, makes it to look such as adware. You can swap Real Player with Real Alternative that is created to play RealMedia files on Microsoft Windows without installing RealPlayer.

Internet Explorer
Welcome to the biggest war of the last 10 years. Firstly between Internet Explorer and Netscape (where Microsoft made his hands dirty to won it), and today, mostly between Firefox and Internet Explorer. Dirty hands this time will not work, since Microsoft has never been capable to do anything against Open source world. I am not going to write yet another compare between Internet Explorer and Firefox. Haven’t you switched your browser to Firefox yet?

Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Outlook is quite slow has less options even when it is compared to Gmail. Obviously, Outlook also need a lot to improve its spam filter. Thunderbird (another great tool from Mozilla) is a great replacement to swap Outlook with.
